Trade Journal 1.1.0
Release Notes · Stable · · Windows
Version 1.1.0 adds Partial Recovery: use a profitable trade to reduce outstanding recovery debt even when its profit does not cover the full amount. Entry forms now include attachments directly, History preserves expanded trades, and new exits enable recovery by default with safe loss handling. These notes cover changes since version 1.0.0.
Attachments in Entry Forms
- View attachments for the current entry in a list on the right of Buy-In, While and Exit forms, including when editing an existing entry.
- Use “Add Attachment” to select one or more files, or drag files onto the attachment panel. Each file is listed with its name and size.
- Save the entry to keep newly added attachments. Cancel or close the form to discard pending additions while preserving existing attachments.
- New trade attachments added in the form belong to its Buy-In entry. Files added to an MT5 exit are saved alongside the original MT5 export.
- Resize entry forms and scroll the fields and attachment list independently.
History Keeps Expanded Trades Open
- Adding an attachment to an entry in an expanded History trade no longer collapses the trade after the list refreshes.
- Expanded and collapsed cards keep their state during updates, including when saving attachments from an entry form.
Paste Images into Entry Attachments
- Use “Paste Clipboard” next to “Add Attachment” in the exit form to attach a copied image directly. The button is also available in Buy-In and While entry forms.
- Pasted images are stored as PNG attachments and added to the entry when you choose “Save”. Cancelling the form discards the pending attachments.
- If the clipboard does not contain an image, the form displays a message so you can copy an image and try again.
Partial Recovery
- When “Recover Drawdown” is selected and the positive exit profit is below the outstanding recovery debt, choose “Partial Recovery” to subtract that profit and carry the remaining debt forward.
- Apply partial recoveries across several profitable trades. For example, a profit of 30 reduces a recovery debt of 100 to 70; a later partial recovery of 20 reduces it to 50.
- Partial Recovery is available for both manually recorded exits and exits imported through the MT5 Connector.
Clearer Recovery Choices
- “Recover Drawdown” is selected by default for new manual and MT5 exits when recovery tracking is enabled. Editing an existing exit preserves its saved checkbox state.
- A losing exit with recovery selected adds its loss to the outstanding debt; a break-even exit leaves the debt unchanged. Neither offers a full-reset confirmation.
- The “Recovery Debt Not Fully Covered” dialog shows the profit, outstanding debt and the amount that would remain after a partial recovery.
- Choose “Partial Recovery” to reduce the debt, “Save Anyway” to reset the entire debt to zero, or “Cancel” to return to the exit form without saving or losing the entered values.
- The recovery-choice dialog is shown when positive profit does not cover the debt. Closing it has the same effect as Cancel.
- When editing an exit saved with Partial Recovery, the form displays its saved recovery choice.
Recalculation and Saving
- Partial recovery choices are stored with each exit and retained when saving and reopening the journal, including MT5 exits.
- Editing or deleting earlier entries recalculates subsequent partial recoveries. Recovery debt cannot fall below zero; a saved partial recovery that becomes a losing trade adds the loss to the debt.
- New automatic recoveries that initially cover the entire debt also retain this profit-based calculation. If later balance changes turn such an exit into a loss, recalculation increases the debt instead of resetting it.
- Deposits and withdrawals remain separate from the trade profit used for recovery. Exits excluded from recovery tracking remain excluded.
- Existing recovery markers from older journals retain their full-reset behaviour. Editing a partial recovery while recovery tracking is disabled preserves its saved choice.
